Maine will see a total eclipse of the Sun on April 8, 2024, at around 3:30 pm EDT. The path of totality can be seen in the cities of Jackman, Caribou, Houlton, Dover-Foxcraft, and Greenville. Houlton and Jackman will see over three minutes of darkness during totality. The towns along the southern coast including Kennebunkport and Bangor will only see a partial eclipse of the Sun. So, if you are living in Maine, you will need to travel to the upper portion of Maine to experience the momentary darkness in the afternoon, and see the glow around the Sun while the Moon blocks the sunlight!
