Alabama will only see a partial eclipse of the Sun on April 8, 2024. The most coverage of the disk of the Sun by the Moon will be in the northwestern corner of the state at around 93%. The least amount will be at Dothan at 79.5%. The next total eclipse of the Sun for Alabama will be on August 12, 2045, in the state’s southern half. (See map below.)
