New Jersey will only see a partial eclipse of the Sun on April 8, 2024. The most coverage of the disk of the Sun by the Moon will be in the northern part of the state at around 93%. The lowest amount will be in the state’s southern part at 87%.

The next total eclipse of the Sun for New Jersey will be on May 1, 2079, in the state’s northern half. (See map below.)
