South Dakota will only see a partial eclipse of the Sun on April 8, 2024. The most coverage of the disk of the Sun by the Moon will be in the southeastern corner of the state at around 78%. The lowest amount will be in the state’s northwestern part at 22%.
The next total eclipse of the Sun for South Dakota will be on September 14, 2099, in the state’s upper-right corner. (See map below.)
